Our Love That Fabric series has been on a bit of a hiatus, but we’re back… and it’s better than ever because the return of the series features an amazing giveaway of samples from all three featured collections. If you’re a S4H fan, you know we are the ultimate fabric enthusiasts. There are so many great designers and companies creating a waterfall of options each and every season. Those “outside the sewing circle” might look askance at the piles of beautiful fabric that surround us, but we know our stash is a work in progress just waiting for the next perfect cut.

THIS GIVEAWAY CLOSED 7/26/21/ THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED.

We’ve selected three collections to showcase. Two are available now, and the third arrives late this summer. For each, we are delighted to be able to offer a sample to give away. That means THREE lucky S4H winners! Continue reading for entry details as well as a peek inside why we love each one.

Tea with Bea by Katherine Lenius for Riley Blake Fabrics available now at Fabric.com

This collection is a sweet as two lumps of sugar! We love the balance of motif style, size, and color. The premier motif is medley of  teacups offered in three different colorways. This more graphic motif can be beautifully combined with the traditional floral designs in the collection: one large and dramatic, two others petite posies and sprigs. As excellent blenders, Katherine Lenius included some dense, repetitive patterns of tiny bumble bees, wisps, and honeycombs. The colorways are soft, but not so soft as to fall into the more ordinary pastel category – not just pink, but coral; mustard rather than plain yellow; deep sky instead of baby blue, plus charcoal and white to ground and warm. You’ll find a great selection of Tea with Bea at fabric.com. We thank our friends there for sending us three generous half yard cuts for one lucky S4H follower. Tea with Bea debuted this year in late spring, so shop now before it’s gone.

Spooky ’n’ Sweeter by AFG Studio for Art Gallery Fabrics available now at Fat Quarter Shop

The pumpkins in your garden might still be small and green, but Halloween will be here before you can say, “falling leaves are covering my lawn!” We’re ready with the brand new Spooky ’n’ Sweeter collection. What immediately caught our attention about the fabric was the fact that it wasn’t all orange and black! The classics colors are definitely there, but the blacks are partnered with charcoal and in addition to oranges, there are unexpected pinks and purples! It’s a delightful palette that works wonderfully for linens, garments, quilts, and more. The illustration style is whimsical with a hint of a retro feel. We love the tumbling skeletons and witches hats, the pumpkin personality parade, and the delightful witches wardrobe. Fat Quarter Shop has the complete yardage collection as well as precut bundles, and a very unique Haunting Quilt Panel that can be used as-is at 35” x 42” or cut into four predefined sections. Our ever-generous pals at Fat Quarter Shop sent us a full Spooky ’n’ Sweeter 10” Fabric Wonders Pack: 42 10” x 10” squares!

Love Always, AM by Anna Maria Horner for FreeSpirit Fabrics coming late summer + a SIY Sneak Peek

We admit to being Anna Maria Super Fans! Her designs are consistently in our Top Ten faves of all time, and her recent Love Always, AM collection is no exception. It’s a deep dive into some of Anna Maria’s loveliest florals plus some favorite geometrics. The result is a rich, bold collection that is a true explosion of color and design. As she describes it, “I recolored here and there to offer a deep and rich palette. I’ve joined giant blooms with small hand drawn details and I’ve balanced undulating natural florals with calm, rhythmic designs for a steady flow of beauty.”

This is one of the collections we chose for a very exciting new project we’re working on with Jaftex, the company that brings you FreeSpirit Fabrics, Henry Glass Fabrics, Blank Quilting Corp., Studioe Fabrics, and more. This Fall, we’re partnering with Jaftex on the introduction SIY – Sew It Yourself!™. It’s a new program you’ll be able to find at hundreds of fabric retailers across the US, catering to new sewing enthusiasts who are ready to learn and grow in their sewing journey. Sew4Home has designed four unique projects – each executed in four different fabric collections – it’s a perfect way to use some of your favorite fabrics to “Learn. Make. Love.” Be on the lookout this August for the SIYsewityourself.com website, and then be watching in September for the debut of our unique patchwork pillow project that kicks off the fun. To pique your interest, FreeSpirit Fabrics is sending a selection of Love Always, AM fat quarters for one lucky S4H winner.

SIY – Sew It Yourself! is a trademark of Jaftex Corp

I just LOVE the little tea cups! So vibrant and colorful. My Great Aunt Bea use to live right nextdoor to us. I would go to her house to visit, and do small chores for her, when she was still with us. She was my favorite Aunt. Her home was ALWAYS so full of BRIGHT colors and patterns! It was so inviting! My Aunt Bea would have LOVED this tea cup pattern l! (I didn’t know her first name was Beatrice, until I was in my 20s. I also thought she was referred to as my Great Aunt, into my… Read more »
