Beautiful, relaxing, portable, and fun for all ages; cross stitch is one of the oldest documented forms of needlework in existence, dating back to the middle ages. We’d love to claim S4H can guide you through each and every part the sewing experience, but sometimes, the best way to lead is to know when to follow the experts! We turned to our friends at Fat Quarter Shop to discover the latest news about cross stitch patterns, products, and Stitch Alongs.

Pretty Patterns

Featuring a trio of cottages on a tree-lined street, the Home Sweet Home cross stitch pattern by It’s Sew Emma finishes at 11.375” x 5.25” – a very sweet size for beginners. There is also a Home Sweet Home Stitch Along happening each Wednesday during the month of April 2021 on the FQS FlossTube channel on YouTube. Watch live, or catch later in the channel archives.

Inspired by the motifs in her Flea Market fabric collection, Lori Holt’s Flea Market Flowers cross stitch pattern features 16 florals laid out in a mosaic style. A new Flea Market Flowers Stitch Along begins June 2, 2021 so you can celebrate the real life blooms of spring outside your window as you stitch along with Lori. Complete the fun with an exclusive Floss Keeper designed to coordinate with the Flea Market Flowers cross stitch pattern.

Lori Holt is back for some summertime cross stitching with the ultimate 4th of July cross stitch pattern: Stitchy Stars, which comes with a supply list, diagrams, full-color instructions, and a list of suggested DMC and Weeks Dye Works colors.

Stitch Cards

Bee in my Bonnet Stitch Cards take cross stitch to a whole new little level! These fun-size patterns give you the ability to quickly complete a whole set of cute designs. The stitch count for each varies from just 32w x 32h to 38w x 38h. The newest set is Stitch Cards Set H by Lori Holt, four delightful barnyard pals you can bring to life as mini framed art or follow their video tutorial for making a cute bowl-filler pillow.

Warning: these four-pack Stitch Cards are addicting because they offer adorable patterns you can finish in a flash. And, what a great gift idea! To feed your addiction, check out the FQS Bee in my Bonnet Stitch Card Club to make sure you receive, and save on, each quarterly release.

Stitch Quarterly Club

We’ve been fans of Fat Quarter Shop for many years, and have always been impressed at how good they are at putting together their kits and clubs. Yes… it may seem like you already have more memberships than you can keep track of, but the cool thing is – they really can make projects easier and faster, as well as giving you the jump on the latest patterns and products – often at a discount.

If cross stitch is your love, the FQS Stitch Quarterly Club is definitely a full-value subscription. Each quarter, you’ll receive a full color cross stitch pattern designed by It’s Sew Emma Stitchery, cross stitch fabric and floss to complete the pattern, a notion, a needle, plus bonus goodies.

The recent March Edition of the Stitch Quarterly Club included the pre-release of the gorgeous Fresh Cut Cross Stitch Pattern. Non-subscribers can pre-order now for May 2021 delivery of this pattern.

An Extra Goody for Any Type of Hand Sewing

One of our favorite new products that is exclusive to Fat Quarter Shop is Mind your own Beeswax Thread Conditioner. A quick slip through this 100% beeswax thread conditioner will have you stitching pretty. For those of us who still miss the old Thread Heaven thread conditioner, this can be a good alternative.
