Bountiful. That’s what we all hope for as a new year begins. An ample supply of goodwill. A generous nature. Plentiful love and encouragement. It’s with this vision that Fat Quarter Shop has announced their 2023 Bountiful Charity Quilt Along + Stitch Along, benefitting the Central & South Texas Make-A-Wish foundation.

FQS has partnered with Moda Fabrics and Moda’s talented designer, Corey Yoder to create a gorgeous sampler quilt overflowing with Spring’s bounty and featuring Corey’s fabric collection: Sunwashed.

2023 marks Fat Quarter Shop’s 10th annual Charity Quilt Along and the 4th annual Charity Stitch Along. Each year, it has been so heartwarming to see the amount of money they’ve raised to grant the wishes of so many children. 

FQS offers the patterns as free downloads during the event with a suggested donation of $50 for all the quilt patterns ($10 each) and $20 total for the cross stitch patterns. However, any amount is accepted – larger or smaller, every bit counts! And – Fat Quarter Shop and Moda Fabrics will be matching up to $30,000!

The Quilt Along

From February to September, FQS will publish a new pattern on their blog on the first Friday of each month. To make the exact featured quilt, you’ll want to purchase the exclusive quilt kit of Sunwashed fabric, which includes background, borders, and binding cuts. A specialty pieced backing kit is also available. 

As the event progresses, at each milestone goal, Fat Quarter Shop will release extra finishing patterns you can use with the completed blocks. At $40,000, $60,000, $80,000, and $100,000 raised, there will be a celebratory free pattern release.

The Stitch Along 

It’s wonderful how Fat Quarter Shop is once again offering both a Quilt Along and a Stitch Along. This year’s stunning cross stitch design is overflowing with flowers and butterflies that match the 2023 Bountiful Charity Quilt. The FQS sample piece was stitched by Stitchy Staffer Denise and finished by Priscilla Blain of The Real Housewives of Cross Stitch.

Similar to the Quilt Along, for the Stitch Along, FQS will publish a new pattern on their blog on the first Friday of each month, starting in March and continuing through August.
