Mother’s Day is a week and a half away. But you knew that, right? Maybe you were waiting for a burst of inspiration? Well, that’s our job! We pulled five fun projects you can easily make in a single afternoon. The fabric and supply requirements are minimal; you may already have the perfect options in your Stash. From cooking to traveling to looking good, these five favorites are sure to please the mom, stepmom, grandmom, and you’re-like-a-mom-to-me women in your life. To make your gift extra special, we have a new set of free printable “Mom Said! Gift Tags” to thank Mom for all her advice. They celebrate all those words of wisdom you ignored at the time but now wish you’d paid attention to because they make so much sense now! Thanks, Mom!

Quilting Accordion Pouch for Jewelry, Lingerie & More

Is Mom a frequent flyer? This unique expandable pouch is based on a vintage silk stockings holder. But, since most of us are a little low on silk stockings we need to store, its five pockets are also excellent for jewelry, small lingerie items, make-up or other little trinkets – especially for travel. Accordion out to drop things into the pockets; accordion in, and snap closed. The outside is a pretty quilting weight cotton. The inside is polyurethane laminate (PUL) for a handy wipe-clean surface.

Tortilla or Flatbread Warmer with Circular Quilting

Does Mom love cooking with tortillas or flatbreads? Put your DIY skills to work to create a 100% cotton reusable warmer. Just slip in the tortilla or flatbread, close the flap, and zap in the microwave. Our adorable warmer is designed to have the look of a fresh red tomato. We show you how to add the free-Appliqué leaves at the top along with a handy hanging loop. This extra finishing touch is optional, but makes the warmer so much more fun (and cuter) to have on the table.

Adjustable Slimline Waist Pack

Most Moms are constantly on the go. Give yours a fun way to make sure she always has necessities close at Hand. Traditional fanny packs tend to be rather big and bulky, but our waist pack design is slimmed down for a sleek look and feel, yet it still opens wide and expands to hold a bunch. Mom can wear the pack at the front or on her hip for safety or simply for easy access. It can also slide around to the back if she’s biking or whenever she needs it out of the way.

Tasseled Chiffon Scarf

This is perfect for the best-dressed Mom (isn’t that all Moms?!). The accessory that always gives you the most fashion muscle per square inch is a big, gorgeous scarf. Ours finishes at approximately 40″ x 70″ and we show you how to make and attach a row a fancy, embroidery floss tassels along the bottom. Tassels have been around since ancient times and they still rock! Pick Mom’s favorite colors and whip up something wonderful in no time at all.

Colorful Ruffled Oven Mitts

Mom deserves lots of cuteness in the kitchen! Pull out some of the prettiest, springiest fabrics from your scrap Stash and blend them together into a happy mix of pattern and color. Each of these adorable mitts uses up to four different fabrics. There’s also a handy hang tab with a stylish grommet. Make up a batch of Mom’s favorite cookies (using her recipe, of course) for a sweet gift that reminds you both of days spent baking treats together and licking frosting from spoons.
