Extra Large Shopper Tote

We used barkcloth in bold tropical prints for our dramatic totes, but other mid-to-heavyweight substrates would work too. The generous size makes it perfect as a market shopper, everyday carryall or even a diaper bag alternative.

Knit Baby Hats + Receiving Blankets

Soft receiving blankets and cute little hats are a classic combo to delight a new mama and daddy. If you are brand new to knits, we also link to our full Sewing with Knits tutorial for helpful tips, tools, and techniques.

Mini Key Fobs

Useful for yourself or great as a gift. Our mini key fobs use just tiny bits of fabric and notions, and they’re fast + fun. In fact they were so fun, we made 5 samples, adding piping, stitching, embroidery, and ribbon.

Bitty Boho Shoulder Bags

The 70s hippie style didn’t go away, it just came back as “boho.” Rich color, mixed-media, wonderful textures, and a loose, unstructured feel are hallmarks of “bohemian fashion.” Our little shoulder bags fit right in.

Double Flange Bolster Pillow

A bolster is a long, narrow pillow often used to support the back or neck. Our black + white version finishes at over 30″ with a flange at each end. It makes a dramatic statement across a bed or against the back of a couch.

Western Style Multi-Pocket Handbag

Unique accents are the perfect path to a professional bag finish. This terrific tote has rivets securing the straps, jean buttons on the side pockets, cool metal grommets, western style pocket flaps, and twin needle topstitching.

How to Install Metal Rivets

Rivets can hold thick layers together at points where it would be impossible to stitch with a machine. They’re the tough guys of sewing, but are actually quite easy to apply with the right tools and tips.

Hooded Baby Bath Towel + Matching Bound Washcloth

This is a nursery must-have! Bundling up baby after bath time with a hooded towel is easier and cozier. We used terry cloth with bright cotton binding. Add a matching washcloth and you have a great gift that can be used again and again.

Quilted Front Flap Purse with Decorative Lock

We used a cool metal closure for this pretty shoulder bag design. There’s a curving side gusset to add structure and a unique curved flap with accent piping. All done with standard weight cottons! So fun, we made two samples!

Soft Fleece Easter Eggs

These cute stuffables are a fantastic ScrapBuster project – especially for kids! Follow our steps to make a basket of super-soft decorative eggs in bright, patterned fleece with ribbons, rick rack, mini-poms, and felt flower accents.

Gingham Fruit Kitchen Towels

Our free gingham fruit embroidery + appliqué designs were custom-digitized for extra-fine 80wt thread. The stitch work is so delicate + precise, you’ll do a double-take when you realize it’s thread, not actual gingham fabric.

Compact Messenger Bag with Inset Zipper

Make a classic messenger brief in a slightly smaller size: 15″ x 10″ x 2″. There’s an inset zipper top, a front zippered pocket, and standard pockets along the back and in the lining. One of our most popular bags!

Flat Bench Cushion

Standard bench cushions are certainly available in stores, but I think we can all agree they never, ever, EVER fit quite right. Make your own, using our easy-to-follow directions to get a perfect fit and a pro finish.

Kid’s Nine Pocket Closet Caddy

Super-cute organization makes it more fun to tidy up, especially if you use a bright, happy print and hang the caddy at kid-height. There are nine 6” pockets, each with an expandable pleat, to hold lots of little items.

Seatbelt Pillow

If you’re driving, your passengers are allowed to doze off. This adjustable pillow lets them do that in comfort. No more banging their heads against the window or risking a neck cramp. There’s even a handy pocket.

Half Round Hanging Basket

When flat surface real estate is at a premium, you can open up additional space by lifting your storage solution up and off the counter with these cute hanging, half-round baskets. Great picker-uppers for kids or any room in the house.

Pillowcase with Decorative Pleated Cuff

Fast and easy, new pillowcases are a great way to freshen bed linens for Summer guests. Have fun selecting three pretty prints for each pillowcase: one for the body, one for the narrow flange, and one for the pleated cuff.

Kitties-To-Go Handbag

We used Tabby Road by Tula Pink, a purrrrfect collection to flaunt your feline love, but you get to choose your own best fabric combo. Our free pattern download gives your bag the unique curved shape with its flat bottom.

Quick + Easy Bound Oilcloth Aprons

If you want a hardworking apron, it’s hard to beat oilcloth. It’s durable, easy to clean (great when kids are involved), and the bold designs and bright colors are fun for any occasion. Patterns included for adults + kids.

Pretty Pleated Squares Table Runner

The beauty of this solid color runner is in the texture of the pleated squares side by side with plain squares. Our tutorial shows you an easy way to create mitered corners without using a separate binding strip.

Lace Up Apron in Denim

This hardworking apron is full of clever surprises. The most striking is its cool lace-up front: bold eyelets woven through with a boot lace. There’s also a hanging pocket that moves with you and a bright pop of color on the lining.

Water Bottle Sling Carrier

Our easy-to-make, shoulder sling water bottle carrier is a great option for hands-free hydration when you’re on-the-go. The inside is lined with fleece for a bit of hot/cold protection as well as to help absorb condensation.

Zip Zap Mini Zipper Pouch

With its casual style and small size, this double-zip pouch is great for kids or adults when extra-cute is exactly what you need. Clever side loops act as channels for the thin, adjustable-with-knots straps.

Double Zipper Designer Pillow

Zippers are the trusty workhorses of the sewing world, going about their job, opening and closing without much fanfare. But it can be fun to let them out from between the seams to shine on their own, like on this fashionable pillow.

Color Blast Placemats

We’re all eating in right now! Maybe it’s time to amp up the wattage of your tabletop with these colorful placemats. A hand running stitch in a thick floss across the bottom panels adds a subtle dash of texture.

Wear ’n’ Wipe Kitchen Towel Scarf

Combine the wearable feature of an apron with the wipe-able feature of a towel to create our Wear ’n’ Wipe Kitchen Towel Scarf. A patchwork panel at the top loops around your neck; at the ends are absorbent towels.

Scrappy Patchwork Border Dish Towels

Learn how to make a patchwork panel from which you can cut horizontal accent bands. Then – use them to jazz up a store-bought flour sack towel (or two or three). We pulled leftover jelly roll strips, but any small scraps could work.

The Lydia Bag

Fast and easy construction, but without sacrificing any style! You can make this beautiful bag in an afternoon while practicing your straight seams, topstitching, and boxed corners. Mix a bold solid with a pretty print.

The VersaWrap

Made of soft knit as a simple tube, it’s a 4-in-1 solution: pull up over your nose and mouth to protect, stretch over your head as a hair cover, scrunch down into a headband, keep around your neck for warmth.

Woolies Flannel Rag Quilt

Wrap up your favorite someone in this snuggly rag quilt with its special “secret admirer” heart appliqué. A rag quilt is sewn together so the seams show on the outside. After washing and drying, the seams begin gently fray or rag.

Hearts on a String Sachets

With triple the heart-stopping cuteness, our heart sachets hang three in a row on a ribbon with a ring at the top and a button weight at the bottom. Use them to add a bit of scented sweetness anywhere it’s needed.

Velveteen Trimmed Tufted Bolster Pillow

The bolster is one of our favorite shaped pillows, we bet you will love it too – especially this classic style with closed, button-tufted ends. We added a touch of luxury with velveteen piping and covered buttons.

Zippered Wide Base Wristlet Pouch

Darts in the bottom give this pouch a roomy base, and the zippered top opens wide so you can easily load up everything you need. Use it by itself with the wrist strap or drop into your favorite handbag or tote.

How To Box Corners

It’s a sewing technique everyone should have in their arsenal. The boxed corner creates space in something that would otherwise be flat. We show you the two most common methods and how to measure.

Knit Infinity Scarf

Infinity scarves are a trend that just keeps going and growing. You can find them in everything from chunky wools to sheer voiles to this wide wrap in a sparkling knit. It finishes at apx. 86″ x 12” – enough length for a double or triple loop.

The Everything Apron

One unique apron pulls together three embellishment techniques: embroidery, decorative stitching, and quilting. We also added form-flattering pleats underneath the waistband and darts in the lower bodice.

Round Lined Basket with Fold Over Cuff

From hiding messy bits and bobs to holding knitting, sewing or other creative supplies, these baskets could easily find a home in any room. Or, pack one with some items to give as a mini gift basket for a wedding or housewarming.
