These jumbo fabric baskets are so big and beautiful, they'll make sorting laundry fun! Well... if not actually fun, at least functional. And, they look great doing their job. Sparkling iron-on letters down one side let you know which items should go into the wash and which are headed to the dry cleaner. We used a combination of three striking Waverly fabrics for our two bins. Although heavier than traditional fashion-weight fabrics, these 100% cotton fabrics were still soft and easy to work with. Ultra-firm fusible stabilizer allows them to stand up on their own in your closet or laundry room yet still be flexible enough to hold plenty and tote easily. It also means you can practice your mad basketball skills, shooting in socks from across the room without knocking them over!
This is a You Asked 4 It project that has been on our list for quite awhile. We finally found the perfect fabric to make it happen: Mod Pods in Mineral from the Home Décor Jacquard collection by Waverly Fabrics. It's soft yet stable in a great neutral with a subtle texture. The French Mattress Edge is actually a hand-stitching technique. It's not at all difficult, but you do need a longer, stronger needle and extra-strong upholstery thread for the best results.
A pouf is the ottoman's casual cousin. Where an ottoman is all about traditional structure and tautness, a pouf is laid back and soft around the edges. Kind of like a sleek business suit versus your favorite comfy pair of sweats. We pushed the slouchy style even farther, taking a cue from poufs we spotted at West Elm and Pottery Barn that were almost like a more like a square bean bag (not to mention being insanely expensive!). That type of filler didn't seem very functional to us, and we think you'll like our foam and batting solution, which allows the pouf to take on both sitting and footrest duties as well as being able to hold a tray as a substitute table. As part of our Waverly World series, we were thrilled to work with this delicious 100% linen home décor fabric called Lightfoot Garden in Cinnabar from the Waverly Williamsburg collection.
We recently showed you how to create a Classic Grommeted Curtain Panel. This sleek modern look works with a wide variety of decorating themes, but if you prefer a more traditional style, you'll enjoy today's Hook & Ring Curtain Panel in gorgeous Waverly fabric. Called Splash of Color in Passion, this 100% cotton twill has a subtle Ikat treatment – where the edges of the motifs appear to bleed into the background as if done with brush strokes. In addition, there are metallic accents throughout the pattern, making it a beautiful choice for a living room or bedroom where softer lighting could catch these shimmering highlights.
Calming, cozy neutrals are the most accepted palette for Fall. But when everything around you begins to feel like its blending into beige, a blast of rich color can be just the ticket. Today, we step back into Waverly World with a stylish satchel. The fabric is called Ute Mountain, and the colorway is Cove. The design is an homage to the Ute Indians of the Rocky Mountain area of Colorado and Utah. The deep navy on this Waverly fabric is highlighted with avocado, turquoise and amber. With its stair-stepping diamonds and two different medallions, this design begged for a project that would bring these motifs to the forefront. Our five-star satchel bag has the features to do just that: precise fussy cutting and pattern matching, a unique inset zipper, bias cut handles plus a detachable strap, and many more professional details.
We step back into the wonderful world of Waverly with this lovely empire waist apron. You've likely seen the Waverly brand on all kinds of home decor items, from window treatments to storage to bed linens. But their original product line was fabric. Starting in 1923, Waverly has produced some of the most beautiful and long-standing collections of any manufacturer. We've broken out of the standard home décor box of cushions and coverings with an apron design, which uses two Waverly medium weight, 100% cotton twills: Paisley Prism and View Finder from the Latte colorway.
Sometimes a project has a distinct front and back. Other times, you want it to be pretty from all sides. We welcome you back to Waverly World with a set of elegant pillows that feature wraparound cording for a unique, all-around-gorgeous result. Our newest S4H sponsor, Waverly is a lifestyle brand you know from your favorite home store; encompassing window treatments, wall coverings, bedding, bath and table linens, storage accessories, and more. But what started it all is the Waverly fabric line, which dates back to 1923 and is still an industry trendsetter. We selected two coordinated prints from the Indigo colorway within their home décor fabric collection to create a trio of pillows in three distinct shapes: hexagon, round and square.
This beautiful shower curtain is guaranteed to improve your singing in the shower by 110%. We're not sure how we will ever back up that claim, but since everyone figures they sound like Beyonce when the water's running, how can we go wrong? We chose two coordinating Waverly Sun N Shade fabrics: one with a bold motif for the main curtain, the other in a smaller design for the valance. Pom poms provide a pop of color. Toss that plain plastic shower curtain and go for gorgeous instead.
One of the highlights of getting ready for Waverly Week here on Sew4Home was getting the chance to talk with some of the Waverly team about how they come up with their inspired fabric designs. As we pointed out in our introductory article, Waverly is much more than a fabric company. You can find their distinctive look on kitchen and bath items, window and wall coverings, tech accessories, luggage, furniture, and lots more. That's why they call it Waverly World. But they got their start more than 90 years ago in fabric. And when they're working on a new design that will eventually be rolled out across Waverly World, they start designing it as a fabric.
Dinner - good. Dinner with friends - better. Dinner with friends outside around a beautifully set table - best. Nothing spices up your outdoor living space more quickly than a new tablecloth. Ours is fast and easy, but also unique with a center contrasting panel that acts like a built-in runner and secret pockets behind each corner. Use these corner pockets to slip in weights that can help hold the tablecloth in place when gentle summer breezes start to blow. The bold Waverly Sun N Shade fabrics we used will keep the tablecloth looking great all season long.
