A lot of love has been shipped out over the last few months. We’re celebrating fourteen winners from our four most recent Great Giveaways. Even if your name is not one listed below, please know how much we appreciate you as a friend and follower of Sew4Home. We know there are a lot of choices out there for sewing and craft inspiration, and we are continually impressed and amazed by the loyalty and just flat-out wonderfulness of our visitors. Yep, S4H fans are the best!
Five Winners of the Aurifil 28wt Thread Bundles
If you’ve yet to try it, Aurifil 28wt thread is a lovely choice for decorative stitching; the heavier weight gives the thread pattern a bold, rich texture. It’s also great for machine embroidery, appliqué (beautiful for a blanket stitch!), longarm quilting, cross stitch, and more. Aurifil provided five bundles of their 28wt thread for our Favorite Project Great Giveaway that celebrated our Guitar Strap project. Each bundle contained SEVEN 109 yard (100 meter) spools. Our winners, who each received nearly a half mile of thread, were: Marnita Parry of Columbus, GA, a loyal S4H follower for over seven years; Margaret from Monmouth, OR, who loves sewing for charity with a local group of women; Enis Blizman of Brownstone Twp, MI, an Etsy shop owner as well as an enthusiastic sewist for herself, friends, and family; Diane Gilley of Trussville, AL, an experience sewer and quilter who, in her mid-80s, is working up the courage to give garment sewing a shot; and Kim McCann of Media, PA, who lends her creative skills to a local high school as a costumer. Congratulations to you all!
One Winner of our Memorial Day Picnic Bundle
Our pretty picnic basket was filled with nine gorgeous fabric cuts and an adorable Fat Quarter Shop collectible storage tin. The lucky winner of all this beauty was Karen Wilson of Hays, KS. Karen tells us any time she’s looking for something cute to sew, she checks Sew4Home first. Whether it’s a bag for herself, something for her home or a special project for her grandchildren, she loves it all. Congratulations, Karen!
Five Winners of Fabric and Thread from the Neptune and the Mermaid Series
TokyoMilk's Neptune and the Mermaid was one of the most gorgeous collections we’ve worked with. After creating an Elegant Fantail Kimono, a Beach Backpack Duffle, and a Unique Pillow Set, we knew we had to share the fun. Our friends at Coats Fabric provided us with enough yardage and thread in a fabulous variety to put together five generous bundles. The winners were: Janet R. of Brooklyn, NY, who is in her 30s and describes herself as a hobbyist sewist with a particular love (she actually said, “obsession”) of bags and accessories; Angela Dusseau Gillen of Platteville, WI, a very busy mom to seven children who still has time to not only sew, but bake, craft, can, paint, crochet, and more (whew); Lyndsay of Twin Falls, ID, an active mom and a grandma who loves to sew all things baby; Sasha Brandt of Westland, MI, who started to sew on sheepskin as a part-time job and now finds herself, just three short years later, with a craft room that contains everything from fiber arts to quilting; and Elaine Gregory of Venice, FL – Elaine was so excited when we got in touch that she used the words, “Thank You” six times, including “Thanks a Million.” You are all so very welcome and we congratulate one and all.
Three Winners of our Cool Kids Classics Great Giveaway
This past July was filled with some of our most popular Classic projects in the categories of Bags & Totes, Aprons, and Storage Solutions. To celebrate, we put together three prize bundles for a trio of very lucky winners. Our Week #1 Winner, who received an autographed copy of our Sew4Home Bags & Totes book along with a full set of awesome Dritz® bag hardware, was Belinda Bronson of Moncks Corner, SC, who looks forward to our S4H emails each week to find her next project.… or two… or three. The Week #2 Winner, who received the amazing Tula Pink Ultimate Aurifil Thread Collection, was Janet Johnson of Reform, AL, Janet’s winning “classic story” was a lovely bit of inspiration: “My very first sewing project was a set of pillowcases with hand embroidered flowers along the edge. I was eight years old, and had been watching my mother sew for a long time. One day we were working in the garden and my mom sent me in to get the old bed sheets to tear up for tomato ties. I saved parts of them and made the pillowcases while every else was outside. My mom came in to see what was taking so long and caught me at her sewing machine. I think she was as scared as she was proud that I knew what I was doing! I’ve been sewing and quilting ever since.” Finally, our lucky Week #3 Winner, who received a set of Omnigrid® rulers plus a mini rotary cutter, was Dylan Johnson of McKinney, TX (no relation to Janet); at 28, Dylan just started sewing two months ago and already has a long list of must-make projects – and even admitted to scanning the S4H site while at work! Congratulations Classics winners!
We thank each and every one of you who entered, as well as all our marvelous sponsors and friends who help provide these lovely prizes. When you support them, you support us.
