We’ve hinted at it here and there over the past year, but it’s finally evolving into reality! Fons & Porter will publish our first Sew4Home book this Fall and we have a sneak peek at the cover.
Slated to debut on October 10th, Sew4Home Bags and Totes: 10 Easy, Fashionable Projects Anyone Can Sew brings the S4H project experience to the printed page.
We’re famous for our creative carryalls, and that is the whole focus of the publication. As the title explains, there are ten great styles. From book bags and satchels to clutches and slings, there’s a little something for everyone.
Be watching your favorite online and in-store book retailers this Fall, and we’ll continue to keep you updated on the latest news. You can even pre-order a copy now at Amazon.
So excited about the upcoming release!! Just wondering if the release date (October 10/16) is still a firm "go", and also curious if it will be available as an eBook download at some point? I personally always prefer a physical book over eBooks, but occasionally it comes down to more of a matter of space than preference ;)
@Wendy - It's release date is supposed to be 10/10 and we haven't heard anything about that changing. I don't believe they are planning an eBook version, but that's an interesting question we'll follow-up on.
Are these new patterns in the book or re-do's from the site?
@Elaine - The projects in the book are only available in the book
.
I put it in my cart on Amazon the second I saw it!! Congratulations on the new book, I can't wait til it comes out! That bag on the cover looks familiar. Has it been on the Sew4Home site before?
@regina918 - Thanks! Yes, we pulled simularities from some of the site's most popular bags.
Yahhhhhhh, can't hardly believe it and can't hardly wait to get my copy of your book. Congratulations to Sew4Home!
@ Sally - thank's for your support - we so appreciate it!!
I am looking forward to the technique illustrations in this book. I have been enormously satisfied with Sew4Home instructions as they always pinpoint the most tricky areas like corners as well as where to begin and how to end. (I purchased a book on bags from another celebrated bag maker and was so disappointed in the poor quality of the directions.) This is one book that I want in print rather than kindle or nook!
@ Thanks, Georgette - we do pride ourselves on our directions here on the website and are so glad to know it's helped you. We hope you are as happy with the book!
I've just pre-ordered on Amazon UK (I live in Scotland) - the stated release date here in the UK is 28 October. I'm something of a bag addict and Sew4Home bags are bar none the best so I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on this book! I'd like to add to Kathleen Ann's excellent suggestion of a series, if I may, by asking for a kitchen projects book.
@Sunnie - Thanks so much - now, all you need to do is to get all your friends in Scotland to buy copies as well
Just pre-ordered. Can't wait to get it. Congrats on the book.
@ Theresa - Thank you - hope you enjoy!
Cool beans!! Is this the beginning of a series perhaps? Like maybe others with a focus on pillows, or storage baskets, or curtains, or baby stuff etc etc etc ? Hmmm? :)
Looking forward to the release.
@ Kathleen Ann - Thanks! You never know.....
So excited for this! Congratulations on the book :) I'll be ordering a copy.
@BrandiP - Thank you so much!
Congratulations! Looks like a must have book
@alanamary - Thanks! Maybe it will be made into a major motion picture
Great cover! It seems like it will be one of those "go to" books for creating great bags, just like your wesite is THE "go to" place for so many projects and techinques! Can't wait for October 10th!
@mpistey - Thank you! We can't wait to hear what you think.
Love the focus of the book. Makes sense to have ten doable projects. Prolific author, James Patterson, recognizing that big books are too much for today's readers is releasing 150 page "book shots." I like small menus as well. Congrats.
@Jane - Thanks - we are certainly known for our bags and totes. And, hopefully, ten will be enough to keep folks busy for awhile
I am so excited for this book!! I am getting ready to pre-order!
@Lanetta - Thank you - it still seems so far away, but it will be here before we know it!
Just pre-ordered!! Can't wait!
@mcelromi1 - Thanks for your early support!
