The S4H Maker’s Club - Exclusively at your Janome Dealer - Quilted Machine Mat & Caddy

Printer-friendly versionPDF version

Our unique Sew4Home Maker’s Club celebrates Valentine’s month with the second of seven project packages: a super sweet Quilted Machine Mat & Caddy. This exciting new Club kicked off last November at participating Janome Dealers across the US and Canada. From bags to baskets to linens and more, Sew4Home Maker’s Club members create clever projects and learn pro techniques. Club Project #2 helps cushion the work surface for your machine and keeps your favorite notions and tools handy… and it does all of that while looking cute as the proverbial button! These projects are exclusive to Janome America dealers, but we introduce each one right here on the website to keep you up-to-date on all the inspiration. Reach out to your local Janome dealer for more information on how you can sign up.

The Sew4Home Maker’s Club is our first foray into the world of customized projects since our Sewing Escapes road shows in 2016-17. There are seven Club projects in this first season, many of which include special extras, such as custom embroidery designs or special patterns. All of them feature our famously trendy yet easy-to-sew patterns and instructions presented by your dealer.

The Quilted Machine Mat & Caddy finishes at 30” x 24”, which fits a wide range of machines and work surfaces. It has 13 pockets that range from 6” to 2” wide x 4” to 8” tall so you can tuck away all types of tools and notions. There’s even a detachable thread catcher. The Club kits also include printable patterns for the shaped pockets at either end of the caddy.

We worked with the Janome Memory Craft 6700 Professional – a powerhouse of a machine that switches from gorgeous decorative stitching to straight line quilting to piping and binding application with ease and flexibility. You’ll work with the precision AcuFeed™ Flex fabric feeding system (incorporating the Quilt Guide Bar), plus the Edge Guide Foot, Quarter Inch Seam Foot, Button Sewing Foot, and Zipper Foot.

If you’re a regular Sew4Home visitor, you know virtually all of our content is free to you as the end user. But that doesn’t mean it’s free to produce. In fact, the costs surrounding the creation of high quality, on-trend project tutorials, patterns, sample construction, photography, and instructions go up and up and up. Our wonderful sponsors help off-set that, but we’re excited to be able to investigate other opportunities as well. It’s all about being able to continue to bring you what you love.

We hope you’ll contact your Janome America dealer or contact your Janome Canada dealer to become a S4H Maker’s Club member. If your local dealer isn’t on board yet, let him/her know you are interested.

What do you do if your local Janome Dealer does not offer this club?

@Dawn - Of course, each independent dealer gets to choose whether or not they want to participate. Neither Janome nor Sew4Home can control that. But... if you, and maybe several of your friends, let your local dealer know how much you're interested in the Club, perhaps you can convince him/her to join the party!

Does the club include this lovely fabric or just the pattern?  Love how it looks!

@AnnaJar - So glad you love the pattern. It is up to each individual Janome Dealer how they set up the kits for their Club classes. We certainly list all the details for the fabric and notions we used for our sample. Some dealers might offer the same fabrics; some might allow members to choose their own lovely combinations. Thanks!

@Christine - Ha-ha-ha.... I have NO doubt about the long list -- hazard of the trade, right?!

Thank you for producing so many free tutorials!
