A fox, a squirrel, and a hedgehog walk into a kitchen. It sounds like the beginning of a joke, but it’s actually the beginning of a great project featuring three custom embroidery designs. This is the seventh project in our S4H Maker’s Club, available exclusively at participating Janome Dealers across the US and Canada. From bags to baskets to linens and more, S4H Maker’s Club members are creating clever projects and learning pro techniques.
With this design, Club members get to stitch out all three embroidery designs with beautiful Janome precision, including those adorable French Knots on the mushrooms! Petite patchwork adds a blast of color along the border of each. We used linen as the towel base fabric and explain how to professionally finish the edges with mini mitered corners.
The Club kits include three custom Forest Friends embroidery designs formatted to fit the front of a standard kitchen tea towel. It’s a trio that would make a fabulous gift for the holidays, housewarmings or showers.
With brilliant colors and detailed embroidery, our adorable set of woodland pals would also look lovely on other kitchen linens, the front of a tote bag, or even adorning a cozy sweatshirt or a child’s overall bib.
These Club projects are exclusive to Janome dealers, but we introduce each one right here on the website to keep you up-to-date on all the inspiration. Reach out to your local Janome dealer in the US or Canada for more information on how you can sign up. Dealers lead all Club classes using Sew4Home’s famously easy-to-sew instructions.
If you’re a regular Sew4Home visitor, you know virtually all our content is free to you as the end user. But that doesn’t mean it’s free to produce. In fact, the costs surrounding the creation of high quality, on-trend project tutorials, patterns, sample construction, photography, and instructions go up and up and up every year. Our wonderful sponsors help off-set that, but we’re excited to be able to investigate other opportunities as well. It’s all about being able to continue to bring you what you love.
We worked on the Janome Skyline S9 sewing and embroidery machine. If you’ve been thinking about adding machine embroidery to your sewing space, this is an excellent model since it can both sew and embroider! It even includes Wi-Fi capability so you can send embroidery designs from an iPad or computer straight to the machine. In addition, Janome developed five amazing iPad apps to help make your embroidery even better. Their AcuDesign, AcuEdit, AcuMonitor, AcuSetter, and AcuSketch apps can all be downloaded from the App store. Switch back to regular sewing to get speeds of up to 1000 SPM, variable zig zag, our favorite: the AcuFeed™ Flex Layered Fabric Feeding System, and an AcuGuide Automatic Cloth Guide that makes edgestitching and topstitching a dream.
We hope you’ll contact your Janome America dealer or your Janome Canada dealer to become a S4H Maker’s Club member. If your local dealer isn’t on board yet, let him/her know you are interested. The more requests we have about the Club, the more likely we can continue and expand Club project options beyond this first season, as well as add more locations.
