Introducing the S4H Maker’s Club - Now at your Janome Dealer - Embroidered Holiday Pouches

Printer-friendly versionPDF version

We are very excited to unveil an exclusive new Club that kicks off this month at participating Janome Dealers across the US.  From bags to baskets to linens and more, Sew4Home Maker’s Club members will create clever projects and learn pro techniques. Our debut project is a set of embroidered zipper pouches with tassel accents. These projects are exclusive to Janome dealers, but we’ll introduce each one right here on the website to keep you up-to-date on all the inspiration. Reach out to your local Janome dealer for more information on how you can sign up.

We can already hear the clickity-clack of your keyboards as you draft a comment to us about not being able to get the projects right here. If you’re a regular Sew4Home visitor, you know virtually all of our content is free to you as the end user. But that doesn’t mean it’s free to produce. In fact, the costs surrounding the creation of high quality, on-trend project tutorials, patterns, samples, photography, and instructions go up and up and up. Our wonderful sponsors help off-set that, but we’re excited to be able to investigate other opportunities as well. It’s all about being able to continue to bring you what you love.

The Sew4Home Maker’s Club is our first foray into the world of customized projects since last year’s Sewing Escapes road shows. There will be seven Club projects in this first season, many of which, like these gorgeous pouches, include unique embroidery designs. All of them feature our famously trendy yet easy-to-sew patterns and instructions.

Our zipper pouches are especially sweet as a set or pick your favorite and make just one. There’s a Large Folio at 12” x 9”, a Medium Pencil Case at 10” x 5”, and the Small Classic Pouch at 8” x 5”. We used bright, solid colors of Essex Linen/Cotton Blend from Robert Kaufman Fabrics to set off the vibrant embroidery.

Each zipper pull features a chubby floss tassel as a bit of extra embellishment.

The Club kits include three custom embroidery designs formatted to fit each pouch size. With brilliant colors and detailed embroidery, our Nordic style motifs work wonderfully well for the holidays but aren’t so seasonal that they wouldn’t continue to be perfect throughout the year.

One or more of these beauties would make a lovely gift. Or – here’s a fabulous idea: make something for yourself!

We hope you’ll contact your Janome dealer to become a S4H Maker’s Club member. If your local dealer isn’t on board yet, let him/her know you are interested. Most dealers are starting their Clubs this month and next and continuing into 2018 with an approximate every-other-month schedule.

Want it? Make it! Join the Sew4Home Maker’s Club today!

can you give me names of dealers near me who are offering this club? My local dealer in Morris, Il said it was for 9400 and I have a 15000. Can either machine be used?

@Beth - THanks! It sounds like you do have a local dealer (if I'm reading your comment correctly), but perhaps he/she has some questions about the program. You are not required to use a certain machine. Each of the projects highlights a model, but that never means you have to use that exact model - the techniques are transferrable. Please reach out to us at info@sew4home.com and we'll see if we can work with you and Janome to get you set up in a Club.

I would be interested in a club on line here with Sew 4 home. I have the 15000 but no way I can take it to class. I am 80 years old. Do you think something could be set up for people like me?

@Donna - What's exciting for you is that you have access to great Sew4Home projects right here at the website, every day! And although the exact projects we're creating for the Maker's Club aren't available here, there are hundreds of others from which to choose. And... congrats on your 15000 ... isn't that an amazing machine?!

I contacted my Janome Dealer and they did not know anything about this, so they wrote to sew4home for more information.

@toni - And they did just that, and then Janome followed up with the dealer and re-sent all the information that they must have overlooked  Thank you for reaching out and letting your dealer know you are interested!

Sounds so exciting but nearest Janome dealer is 100 round trip miles away.

Sandrea - It will be exciting - but there's lots of excitement to go around... right here on the site, in the Club environment, in-person workshops, books. Something for everyone, right?!

I wonder if you could have an online Sew4Home Maker's Club. If embroidery designs, cut files and/or extras of some type were included, it would certainly justify charging a fee to belong to the club or charging a fee for the special project download. You could continue to offer the wonderful free content and simply augment with special projects that had a fee.

Thanks for your support! We are looking at a variety of options, but for now, the Club is something special for our friends at Janome. For the future... always lots of possibilities!

I definitely understand the need to offset costs. However, I don't own an embroidery machine, so I don't need the embroidery files. Is there second version just for those who might want the instructions only?  Thanks.

@ Boomer’s Mom - this is an exclusive Club project, but we’ve done lots of zippered pouches that are similar in one way or another. Take a look at our Project Index for great options. And, just as an FYI, a lot of dealers offer embroidery machines that can be used during their classes.

@Carla - The cost, if any, will depend on the dealer as they all have different ways they handle their classes and clubs. We're excited to know you'll be reaching out!

@Grace - So sorry - but there's always all the great content right here

Yes, and there has been some very nice content.  Thank you so much, but it seems I won't get these designs if I can't join Janome.

@rosalene - because the Club is so new, Janome America has not yet built a page like that. Reach out to your favorite local dealer to sign up, and if he/she isn’t yet on board, encourage them to do just that.
