Gift card, credit card, business card; this three-pocket mini wallet holds them all. We used pre-cuts, but the real stars are the stunning Renaissance Ribbons. We’ve brought you news over the last several months about the Ribbon Lovers' Club that Renaissance Ribbons debuted this year. As a club member, each month a packet arrives at your door with five to seven one-yard lengths of exquisite ribbon. We created these clever pouches with the Club packets in mind. You can create multiple cases with a single one-yard length, mixing and matching with fabric scraps or pre-cuts you have on hand. They make a gorgeous gift idea.
Simply. Stunning. Of course we love all our bags and totes here at Sew4Home, but every once in awhile, one of the designs turns out so fabulously, it becomes an instant all-star favorite. That’s the case with this Ribbon Wrapped Bucket Bag. If you’re a regular Sew4Home visitor, you know we are big fans of Renaissance Ribbons. Their woven jacquard ribbons are the brightest, most beautiful ribbon we’ve ever found. Our tall drawcord duffle is the perfect project to showcase a merry-go-round of color.

Sometimes, you gotta go bold, or go home! We love the amazing new French Velvet Border trim from Renaissance Ribbons. From 2½” to 6½”, it brings a wide swath of colorful design to your project. We created a classic portfolio clutch that makes the Velvet Border the star of the show as a wraparound feature against a rich solid denim. This is a low-nap velvet. While it’s luxuriously soft to the touch, the shorter pile allows the intricate designs and colors to really stand out.
You are a Maker! You create beautiful things with your own two hands. The medium in which you work may be different: from flour and salt to flowers and soil to floral print fabric and seams; but your dedication to expressing yourself is the same. We’re excited to showcase our first project of 2017 for our dear friends at Renaissance Ribbons. Our Maker’s Apron is designed to hold whichever tools you use most in a lucky-thirteen set of pockets. And, the bib is detachable! The ribbon trim is designed in the perfect lengths to take advantage of Renaissance Ribbons’ awesome Sampler Packs. These are a wonderful (and very affordable) way to collect and experiment with a variety of your favorite ribbons.
Two rows of dimensional ribbons front and back give this sleek clutch its elegant style. These gorgeous Jacquard ribbons are the newest from Amy Butler, part of her Violette collection for Renaissance Ribbons. They accent the Violette fabric of the clutch for a 3-D blend of saturated color and design. It's a perfect eye-catching accessory to pair with everything from a little black dress on an uptown evening to dressed-up jeans for a weekend getaway.
Tall, thin and elegant, this bag could be a runway model. Or maybe at least be carried by one of those long-legged beauties. Soft faux leather with a slight metallic sheen is the perfect background for the exquisitely woven, richly colored, simply beautiful jacquard ribbons. These are brand new selections by Bonnie Christine for Renaissance Ribbons. We went Bonnie-all-the-way, using a matching fabric from her Art Gallery collection for the lining. Our specific ribbon selection is what creates the bag's fashionable spirit, but there are many, many others from which to choose at Renaissance Ribbons.
We love embellishing projects with gorgeous ribbons. One reason is that we have such amazing choices from our friends and sponsor, Renaissance Ribbons. Another is because ribbons inject wonderful color and texture. Third, they're very easy to work with. Since we use them often, we're always thinking about new and unique ways to apply them. Today's quick tip shows you how to use standard piping cord to make ribbon pop off the surface.
It starts flat, then folds up 1-2-3, and snaps front and back to create an adorable cone-shaped mini purse for coins and more. Project design credit goes to Tendance Ruban for re-inventing this lovely vintage design; our thanks to sponsor, Renaissance Ribbons for bringing it to our attention. We reverse-engineered the original sample to provide you with easy, step-by-step instructions and a downloadable pattern. For this multi-layer project with its origami fold, it's important everything stays flat. Our solution: the ribbons are stitched to the plain side of a layer of fusible interfacing. When the front and back are assembled and pressed, it activates the fusing and creates a tight, smooth bond. Stability is increased and layers are decreased.
Take your pet walking in a winter wonderland in style this year! Beautiful ribbon, hardware, webbing, a couple of hours, and you can make your very own boutique-style dog collar and leash. This is such a fun and easy project, you'll be offering to make them for all your canine friends. Our thanks for Renaissance Ribbons for providing the ultra-stylish ribbon for both sets. It's a perfect holiday gift idea, especially with the cute embellishments we added to each. There's a slip-on bow tie for the dapper dog, and a set of poms and jingle bells for the more festive (and bouncy) pooch.
