Who loves pillows? We love pillows! Actually, we think it’s safe to say that everyone loves pillows. How could you not? They’re soft and pretty, and their flat surface is the perfect foundation for design. The lovely and creative, Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts has taken that pillow top design to a wonderful new level in Pillow Talk, her latest book with It’s Sew Emma. Read on to take a look inside at the 25 eye-popping pillows and discover the 25 companion Pillow Talk fabric kits available starting this month at Fat Quarter Shop.

Edyta’s Pillow Talk book debuted in September and the reviews have already been fabulous. We can certainly see why. Each of the 25 featured pillows is like one of her amazing quilt designs in miniature.

The pillow projects explore a variety of techniques from appliqué to paper piecing to traditional quilt blocks. And, each pillow is accented with gorgeous free motion quilting, which you can choose to emulate or use your own favorite quilting style.

We truly loved each and every one of the pillow designs, but our particular favorites include Dot Dot Dot, Ring Bearer, and Prism Glass. Simply dazzling! There’s a delightful mixture of different styles and sentiments as well as options for various holidays and seasons.

The mix of colors in these designs is so inspiring, which is why we were thrilled to find out Fat Quarter Shop is offering a kit for each of the 25 pillows. These kits include all the pillow top and binding fabrics (you supply the backing fabric) from the Laundry Basket Favorites collection for Andover Fabrics. This collection is a rainbow of quilting cotton solids in a linen texture and brimming with the deep, rich tones for which Edyta is famous.

The kits contain the exact fabrics used in each sample pillow, but do not include the actual pattern; the patterns are exclusively available within the Pillow Talk book. It’s great to be able to work from a kit to recreate the same beautiful look and feel of the designer’s sample.

The kits range in price from $18.98 to $32.98, depending on the quantity and variety of fabric included. You can browse all the kits and order them directly from Fat Quarter Shop.

The Pillow Talk book is available through either Fat Quarter Shop or It’s Sew Emma. It lists for $28.95, but is currently discounted to $27.48. It would make a lovely gift on it’s one or perhaps with a Fat Quarter Shop gift certificate that allows the gift recipient to pick out her/his favorite Pillow Talk Kit.

Our thanks to Fat Quarter Shop, It’s Sew Emma, and Edyta Sitar for letting us Talk about Pillow Talk!

For even more information, check out the Fat Quarter Shop Behind the Seams episode, featuring FQS’s Kimberly Jolly talking with Edyta about books, projects, and more. Originally live-streamed at the end of August, the full-length video is available now on YouTube.
