We just found out from our friends at Sulky that our Webinar and Bag Kits are still available, but just for a limited time! We originally did the Webinar live this past Fall as part of their Sewing Online with Sulky series. The live event was recorded and archived and is still available! Once registered, you can watch it on-demand, for free, whenever it’s convenient for you. At the end of the Webinar you can order the exclusive Sling Bag kit, however, we understand inventory of the kit is running low.

Our Webinar is titled: How to Sew Box Corners for Bags and More with Sew4Home. Based on our popular step-by-step tutorials, the hour-long Webinar shows you how to turn a flat square into something with dimension.

You’ll learn how to add boxed corners to a bag, box or basket (and more) for a professional finish. We review two ways to measure and sew the corners, as well as talk about working with stabilizers and fusible batting for structure and functionality.

We also outline all the formulas you need to determine the correct cut height and width when boxing corners for which you don’t have a pattern. And… no need to take notes; we created a Handy Reference Guide wth Corner Measurement Formulas. It has all the math you need on one double-sided sheet. It’s a great addition to anyone’s sewing toolbox and is available as a free PDF download at the end of the Webinar.

To put all your box corner skills into action, we also created a brand new Sporty Sling Backpack pattern. As mentioned above, it is available as a curated kit at the close of the Webinar and includes all the specialty notions and instructions you’ll need to create the bag yourself. The kit even includes a copy of our Sew4Home Bags & Totes book so you can make even more great projects. However, the supply of the kits is limited, so we would encourage you to order soon.

Thanks to its deep boxed corners, our versatile Sporty Sling Backpack is roomy enough for toting items to the gym, carrying sewing or knitting supplies to class, traveling on an airplane or simply using as your favorite everyday bag. It features a grommet-and-cording top for a cinched closure covered with a flap. A single broad strap at the center back makes it fast and easy to loop over your shoulder and super comfortable to carry. Two zippered pockets at the front and back of the bag hold smaller items. Use your favorite home décor weight fabric with a matching cotton lining.

Our thanks again to Sulky for the original opportunity; we loved teaching in this live environment, talking directly with our fans and followers. We hope you can check out the Webinar… you’ll learn some great tips, get the chance to order the exclusive bag, and hear what Liz really sounds like :-).
