Tax Day 2019 Great Giveaway

Printer-friendly versionPDF version

Go fly a kite! Although some may throw around this term in a derogatory fashion, anyone who is a long-time fan of Mary Poppins knows that flying a kite is the key to a wonderful day! Softening the blow of April 15th (USA Tax Day) with a Great Giveaway has become a tradition here at Sew4Home, and this year we’re celebrating by combining three multi-yard cuts of colorful fabric with our own Fly a Kite canvas tote. It’s a stress-relief bundle that will allow one lucky Sew4Home visitor to soar with creativity.

This popular tote is a generous shopper style with deep 4" boxed corners and tough webbing handles. We’ve loaded it up with three super bright and bold fabric cuts, each over a yard in size. Once you pull those out, you can load up the pretty tote with groceries, craft supplies, or whatever you need to carry from here to there.

Our Fly A Kite Canvas Tote project is still available on the site if you’d like to create your own version.

It’s easy to enter; all the details are listed below. In addition, we’d love to hear from you in the comments section below. This is totally optional and doesn’t increase or decrease your chances, but it does help us make sure our projects and sewing tutorials are on target with your habits and interests. If you can take a minute, leave us a short message about the type of projects we’ve done that have been your favorites, what you’d like to see in the future, and if there’s anything else on your wish list. Thanks in advance for your input!

Ooh a giveaway!  Perfect timing.  My hubby is an accountant so just imagine those long nights I was alone.  Heading to a retreat in a few weeks and the bright colors would certainly brighten upcoming projects.

Love the design of the bag and that it says summer. I'm so ready. I love bright colors and this is perfect. Do you have the tutorial for this bag or did I miss it? I seem to look at the Internet like I read books, mostly skim.

I would love to make one of these bags for this summer for myself. Thank you for the creative ideas you send my way. Pat

I love the kite tote bag. I also love to make things that are fairly quick to make.  If it takes a week, I'll run out of time and it goes into the "UFO" pile.   Thanks so much for your newsletter and patterns.

This is such a great website for creativity using my Janome sewing machine.  The tutorials, tips and technics are greatly appreciated.  Love seeing the newsletter on Mondays and Fridays in my inbox.  Some projects that I have made are the Flip Flop Luggage Tags, Cord Wraps (my son requested several more), Fabric Wallet, Mesh Zippered Sport Pouches and Double Zipper Device Sleeve.  These all make wonderful gifts so I tend to make some extra to have on hand for last minute occasions.

I'm always looking for simple gift item ideas.

I've also made many of the Market Tote Trio bags. I like interesting versions of bags like these with the scalloped pockets.

Adorable tote, especially with those beautiful colorful fabrics tucked inside. S4H tutorials are the best on the web—always clearly written and perfectly illustrated. In addition, I love that you send only two emails a week. Thank you for so many wonderful projects.

I loved making the compact messenger bag, and I love using it even more.  It’s just the right size for my iPad and phone and other items on a monthly day trip.  A good tote bag for everything under the sun is priceless, too!  Beach bags are a must here in the sunshine state, and can be counted on to do double duty as a grocery tote.  Since plastic straws are being phased out in many states, and some of us are using permanent ones as replacements, perhaps a carrier with individual slots or pockets would be really nice to have in purse, picnic basket, or the car.  I’ve been thinking about that.  Thank you for your thoughtful tax day giveaway!  You’re the best!
