Fast Fridays: Cute Fabric Bowl Covers

Friday, 06 September 2019 1:00

Lighten up on the plastic wrap and aluminum foil and go green with these cute fabric bowl covers. They're great when you're dining outside. Slip one over an open bowl to keep dirt and buggies from invading the contents. When dining in, they're a good option for covering a dish you're bringing to a party. It's like a little bowl bonnet, and such a fun way to add a country-fresh look to your table. This is a super fast and easy project anyone can do, which is what our Fast Fridays series is all about: whipping up something wonderful in no time at all!

Lace Up – Zip Up Reversible Banded Pillow

Thursday, 05 September 2019 1:00

Where would you like to go today? Forget Google Maps and the ever-present GPS, give me a real map and I’ll follow you anywhere… bonus points if it might be a treasure map! We were originally inspired by the Street Maps fabric from the Dapper collection by Tim Holtz for Coats – a vintage wonderland of intricate detail. We used two large panels to create our clever reversible pillow. Each side has its own unique closure. And we all need closure, right?!

Big, Beautiful Diaper Bag with Adjustable Strap & Lots of Pockets

Tuesday, 03 September 2019 1:00

Plenty of room, lots of pockets, PUL lining, adjustable strap... this diaper bag has it all. Plus, most importantly for a bag that's your constant companion for months: it's GREAT looking! In fact, it might be hard to give up this pretty bag once your baby has become a more compact traveller. We used a coordinated pair of twill-weight cottons. To this medium weight fabric, we added a fusible interfacing on all the main pieces, and the sides and bottom have the extra stability of fusible fleece. This bag is meant to stand up to heavy daily use!

Roomy Canvas Weekender Duffle

Friday, 30 August 2019 1:00

This super-roomy duffle fills up to the brim then cinches down into a compact, easy-to-carry box shape. We added both carry handles as well as an adjustable shoulder strap. The strap can be completely detached, which makes the bag a good option for travel – no dangling strap to get caught on things. You’ve likely seen this classic style before. It reminded us of a vintage college sports duffle. Read on to see how we’ve demystified the steps to creating the zip-wrap-and-clip combo that gives the top of the duffle its signature silhouette.

How to Make Adjustable Straps

Wednesday, 28 August 2019 1:00

Want to know the long and the short of this classic technique?! Making an adjustable strap can seem like a magic rope trick with all the weaving and threading this way and that. But, it’s really quite easy and makes the strap so much more useful. Lengthen to wear cross body, shorten for a shoulder strap or to hand carry. The technique also works great for instrument straps. We show you the all the steps, using handy Dritz hardware.

Coupon Clipper Wallet & Organizer

Tuesday, 27 August 2019 1:00

I am a coupon clipper; I even keep the ones that spit out like some sort of crazy jackpot with my grocery receipt. They all end up in a kitchen drawer, which is usually where they are when I really need them. If I do manage to remember to bring them to the store, it's so hard to find the one I need, I often just give up. Our solution is this pretty Coupon Organizer & Wallet. It has seven pockets so you can sort coupons, frequent shopper punch cards, gift cards, and more into specific sections. Now they will be easy to find, and therefore, easy to use. Never pay full price again!
