Give the gift of relaxation with our scented spa set. All three pieces are made out of super soft Cuddle Dimple, Cuddle Three, and Velvet Cuddle. There’s a neck wrap to pull the stress from your shoulders, an eye pillow to soothe and calm, and a pretty headband to gently sweep your hair up and away in order to easily rest the neck wrap and eye pillow in place. We got the idea for making the set in luxury fleece from our friends at Fabric Depot. They alerted us to a very large shipment of Cuddle that has just arrived from Shannon Fabrics: prints, solids, textures, and more. Let's all say it together: ahhhhhhhhh ..... spaaaaaaaaaaa.
Tick tock goes the holiday clock, but there’s still time to give something you’ve made yourself. We’ve collected Twenty Terrific Gift Ideas to spark your imagination. Some you can whip out in an hour, others might stretch through an afternoon, but we searched to make sure they all fall into the easy-for-everyone category, plus most can be likely be made with stash fabric and supplies. Browse through the list and pick a few favorites to add to your last minute list.
Slice, stitch, tie, give. Just four steps to fast and festive (and reusable!) gift wrap solutions in wool felt with cotton accents. Pretty bows and belts keep things wrapped up tight. We planned three different sizes and styles from glamorous to whimsical to guy-friendly. Each is designed to be saved and used again as gift wrap, or in the case of the All Felt with Belt Closure & Boxed Bottom option, to be used as an every day accessory to carry papers, small devices and more – perhaps as a cool "drop in" folder for a larger briefcase.
We’re back with another Favorite Project Great Giveaway. This special giveaway series gives you a chance to win fabric and/or notions from some our most popular projects. This time, we have THREE bundles of the exact Sulky 30wt cotton thread and Ultra Solvy stabilizer we used for our super cute Sewing Patches Tote.
Working with pre-cuts often makes me hungry... the names are so tantalizing: Jelly Rolls, Honey Buns, Layer Cakes. Thankfully, pre-cuts have zero calories and it's fun to come up with creative ways to turn them into what we like to call "new fabric." For today's project, we used Jelly Roll strips from one collection and Honey Bun strips from another collection, proving once again, you can combine beautiful prints from different designers to create a your own unique look. We created a fast, strip-pieced pillow in lovely seasonal colors with decorative stitch accents.
The weather is getting dreary, and the world outside seems to be nothing but varying shades of gloom. Now is the very best time for a color infusion! Our eye popping Gumdrop Pillows are created in multiple colors of Candy Shag Faux Fur from Shannon Fabrics. The luxuriously long nap of the Candy Shag starts as pure white at the base finishing with brilliant candy colors at the tips. As the nap shifts, so does the color, flashing from white to bright and back again. If I had the guts, I think I’d try this technique on my own hair.
Fashion in a flash. Fur collars are a gorgeous way to update a winter coat, adding an instant overlay of luxury. Our fabric choices were inspired by the sumptuous faux fur selection at Fabric Depot. We selected the look of natural fur, which has a beautiful depth of tone as well as a smooth and deep pile. But you could also walk on the whimsical side with varieties in fanciful colors, curly shags, and more. We offer a number of combination suggestions below.
We love travel size toiletries. I think this may date back to those long-ago days playing with Barbie® dolls and trolls. Everything was so little and cute. In fact, most things are more adorable in a mini size: people, puppies, muffins... and little bottles of shampoo, deodorant, and lotion. At approximately 7½” x 4” x 3½”, our cosmetics and toiletries bag is smaller than a standard dopp kit, but is still the perfect size to fit all those tiny bottles and jars and more, while tucking neatly inside your luggage. It’s a “mighty mini”!
When the stars hit your eye, like a big pizza pie… that’s Fabriflair®! (apologies to Dean Martin; but at least on the web, you can’t tell how off key we are). Just in time for holiday decorating, we are back with our friends from Indygo Junction to bring you some exciting news about their Fabriflair® dimensional paper piecing kits. Originally created as matte board template kits for hand stitching, they have a brand new line of stabilizer and patterns that can be created with machine stitching. Find out more, snag the code for a 15% holiday discount, and get ready to see – and sew – stars!
