THIS CONTEST ENDED 08/16/2010. Thanks to everyone who entered. Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree Quilts says: "Hello Sew4Home readers! I am so impressed with all of the wonderful projects the ladies over here have done with my newest fabric collection, Fresh Cottons, over the last few weeks, WOW! I was seriously tempted to make some of them myself and that just hardly ever happens. The look was so elegant and so vintage and so fresh, well it was Fresh Vintage ™ if you will! To finish things off, I thought I would add a few goodies and send a lucky winner a little care package of Fig Tree patterns and some Fresh Cottons fabric. Best of luck to you all!"Thanks, Joanna!! We were thrilled that 1) Joanna loved our projects, and 2) she was sweet enough to offer a set of patterns and a Honeybun of Fresh Cottons fabric for one lucky winner. Entering is easy : Simply sign up for our Sew4Home mail list and you are automatically entered to win. If you are already a mail list member, then your work is done. We will draw one name at random from everyone who is in the mail list as of midnight PT August 16, 2010. We will contact the winner by email to confirm your shipping address and Joanna will ship the prize directly to you by the end of August. Sorry, but because of increased shipping rates, this drawing is only open to our Sew4Home friends in the continental USA. Thanks again, Joanna. And, good luck to everyone! Remember, simply sign up for the mail list to enter. If you are already a mail list member, you are automatically entered to win. Another note, this drawing is in addition to our regular periodic drawings for fabric. Check out our Fresh Linens collection of projects if you haven't done so already:Patchwork Euro Pillow Shams Using Charm Pack Squares Euro shams are square, which gives us the perfect platform for a patchwork center made from Charm Pack squares and the coordinating natural and ivory solids. A deep flange and button-up back complete the elegant design. Layer Cake Round Wedge Pillow This happy little pillow features six patterned wedges on each side. Each pair of wedges is cut from one handy Layer Cake square. A covered button in the center and matching piping all around dishes up a lovely look. Layer Cake Dresser Cloth with Button Accents Layer Cake squares are 10" x 10". We laid four full squares on point down the center with coordinating triangles along the sides. Thin bands of ivory frame each geometric shape, and pretty shell buttons dot the intersections. Restful Rose-Banded Pillowcases with Honey Bun Accents We've used this tried-and-true easy pillowcase pattern in a number of incarnations here at S4H. Our Fresh Cottons version mixes a bold rose with a mini rose and brings in a Honey Bun accent strip. Sweet dreams guaranteed. Braided Jelly Roll Pillow Braided patchwork is moving up the food chain in quilting expertise. We show you how to create two colums of braiding from Jelly Roll strips. A center accent strip with shell buttons adds interest and matches the Dresser Cloth Apple Green Panel Curtains with Jelly Roll Accents & Tie-Backs Curtains blowing in the breeze are a sure sign of summer. Ours are easy panels with a simple rod pocket. From the Apple Green colorway, we blended a swath of Medallion Fluer with an upper panel and tie-back in Bouquet and a Coral Rose flange accent. Ruffled Lumbar Pillow from Fat Quarters and Layer Cake The standard rectangular lumbar pillow is romanced with tufted buttons and ruffled edges, creating a soft and subtle member of your guest bed's pillow pile. Fig Tree Threads' Amelia & Me Sun Hat Although you may not want to get out of bed once this room is complete, we added a pretty project made from Fig Tree's own pattern. This fun, floppy sun hat will keep you cool and stylish as you stroll along the shore. Queen Quilt Fat Quarter Cut-Up We're quiltin' now, S4H gang! This beautiful queensize quilt is made from cleverly cut Fat Quarters. We used six of Joanna's seven colorways to create our patchwork design. It echos the look of the Pillow Shams above, but on a grand scale. For More Information on Joanna Figueroa, Fig Tree Quilts, Moda Fabrics, and Fresh Cottons

... Liz this fabric is so beautiful. It would be amazing to work with and being a beginner I'd sure be nervous creating a project with this so I daresay I'd give the fabric to my mum. She's wonderful and most importantly introduced me to the fun of sewing! |
