Coming this September, THE place to be is Minneapolis, MN at The Creative Connection. This brand-new event is as exciting as finding a twenty dollar bill on your way out of an ice cream shop. It's the brainchild of and a joint venture between Nancy Soriano and Jo Packham of Where Women Create. Jo is a good friend of mine (since she's my friend, I'd like to think Nancy is my friend by extension), and when I first heard her musings about this event, I was hooked. Sign me up and book my ticket... I'm there. It's four days of learning, crafting, bonding, laughing, shopping, meeting and succeeding with like-minded creative women, women entrepreneurs and 'Mompreneurs' from all across the country. Women. Passion. Business. All rolled-up and tied with a handmade, originally-designed, artisan-dyed bow.

The dates to save for The Creative Connection are September 15th through the 18th, 2010. Four action-packed days to surround yourself with other women who are passionate about being creative in their everyday lives as artists, mothers, bloggers, cooks, business owners, and crafters. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are full, action-packed days; Wednesday is a special early bird preview evening at the HandMade Market.

Take a big breath and get ready to leap in

  • Daily hands-on workshops in jewelry, sewing, knitting, painting, and more; with top-of-the-industry teachers, like Joanna Figueroa, Betz White, and Kaari Meng.

  • Panel discussions on how to launch a business, boost your business, blog better, get ready for the new face of retail, and more; led by the likes of Heather Bailey, Amy Barickman, and Cathie Filian.
  • The juried HandMade Market with an incredible collection of products from women entrepreneurs: crochet to confections, pet accessories to photography, ski mittens to skin care.
    Image
  • The Junk Bonanza , also juried, with over 100 vendors of antiques and vintage wares.

  • Amazing keynote speakers: Amy Butler and MaryJane Butters.
  • Plus these items just added: a special Thursday, September 16th event for anyone interested in all things food or being a 'Mompraneur'. AND... a special Frontier Lunch , also on Thursday, featuring a keynote by Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman!

Take some time to browse The Creative Connection website as well as their accompanying The Creative Connection Blog, which each week has great profiles of featured speakers and artists, as well as awesome contests for ulra-cool free stuff.

Then, once your brain is full and your dreams are big, sign up to go! Packages are available for the entire conference as well as single day tickets.

We'll be there... will you?
