Wow ... 2010 is here!! All of us at Sew4Home wish you a very Happy New Year, and offer a big "THANKS" for making our first year so exciting and successful. Whether you're one of our fantastic regular readers or you've found us for the very first time, we're glad you're here and hope you keep coming back. Let us know what you think about our projects and how your own have turned out. It takes just seconds to become a registered user so you can post comments. We selected our Top Twelve projects from the past year. It was hard, because we had a lot of fun with them all. These favorites were the ones most discussed online and by email, as well as the most picked-up and posted to other blogs and sites. Thanks again; we hope to see a lot of you in 2010, and when you return, make sure you bring a friend. Door Draft Buster from December 14, 2009When the weather outside is frightful, this delightful draft buster keeps the chilly winds at bay. We love the Woolies Flannel fabric from Maywood Studio. Yoga Mat Sling Bag from November 30, 2009This tote was popular on three fronts: 1) the over-the-shoulder design was a favorite, 2) Amy Butler's Love fabric was a hit, and 3) the step-by-step instructions include a great tutorial on how to perfectly match the pocket design to the background fabric. Pretty Prints Please: Zebra Butterfly Fleece Throw from November 25, 2009Super simple and essentially a no-sew project – only the fun butterfly appliqué requires threading up your machine. This is a great time of year to find fantastic buys on fleece online or at your local fabric retailer. Go to the tutorial. Thanksgiving Tablecloth with Arts & Crafts Style Panels from November 02, 2009Maybe it was the absolutely beautiful Joel Dewberry fabric. Maybe it was the simple yet classic design. Maybe it was our fetching table setting. Whatever mixture of magic, this tablecloth was a favorite on several lists. Go to the tutorial. Citrus Holiday: Hostess Apron with Dreamy Bow from October 12, 2009Ruffles and bows and bright Heather Bailey Pop Garden & Bijoux fabric was a winning combination for this apron project. Made to coordinate with our Citrus Holiday collection, we had a number of people excited to make it for all kinds of celebrations. Go to the tutorial. Bed Caddy from September 22, 2009We lost track of the number of other sites and blogs who picked up this project (and its sister project, the Sofa Caddy). Clever construction and the great Amy Butler Garden Knot fabric boosted it up the popularity poll. Go to the tutorial. Citrus Holiday: Perky Pom Pom Pillows from August 18, 2009Everyone who sees these little pillows has the same reaction, "Ohhhhhhh .... these are so cute!" If they see them in person, they also pick them up and squeeze them. They are the 'cute baby kittens' of Sew4Home projects. Go to the tutorial. Stylish Baby Nursery: Scalloped Rag Quilt from August 10, 2009This project wins the prize for most comments. Visitors loved the small, cuddly quilt because it was an easy way to try quilting, and because it had such a wonderful combination of Patty Young Andalucia fabrics. Look for a new Rag Quilt next month – just in time for Valentine's Day. Go to the tutorial. Stylish Baby Nursery: Crib Bumpers in Two Cool Fabs from August 3, 2009We heard from so many people who used this tutorial to make bumpers for the new babies on their gift lists. We love it when our projects inspire you to give a handmade gift! Go to the tutorial. Patio Party: Sitting Pretty Chair Cushions from July 13, 2009It seems like a wonderful dream to look at our sunny photos from this past summer's Patio Patio projects. But, the Winter Soltice is behind us and every day has just a few more minutes of light. Sun and fun will be here before we know it. Go to the tutorial. Fabric Shower Curtain in Toile from June 1, 2009A new shower curtain is one of the fastest and easiest ways to update your bathroom décor. This dramatic black and white version was an early hit on the site. Go to the tutorial. Floral Appliqué Table Runner & Place Mats from April 13, 2009
This pair of projects was a hit thanks to the inspiration of starting with a very simple (and inexpensive) store-bought set of table linens. Fussy-cut appliqués transformed them into something wonderful. Go to the tutorial. Well, that's our Top Twelve, but there are dozens and dozens more to choose from and 2010 holds the promise of even more. Happy New Year, Happy Home Décor, Happy Sewing from Sew4Home!
