This month's selection of fabrics is very summery, warm and luxurious. Right after Quilt Market, we see so many gorgeous new collections that narrowing our picks is not easy. It's a terrific time to look for lovely new fabrics like the ones we've chosen. These collections are either fresh in inventory at your favorite fabric shops or will be very soon. We're always interested to know what new fabrics are catching your eye.

The Antiquity Collection

Shown: first column

The Antiquity Collection from Michael Miller Fabrics is regal in both color and design. The French Old Script blends with Heirloom Lace, Delovely Damask, Quatrefoils, Crowns, Petals and Fairy Frost in plum, pewter, breeze, linen and cream to create a striking and versatile palette.

These prints feel destined to to drape a formal living, dining or master bedroom. But... wouldn't they be spectacular in a nursery! We're only showing a tiny sample of this large collection. It has enormous potential, so let your creativity run with this group.

Weekends

Shown: second column

Another inspiring collection from Erin McMorris for Free Spirit Fabrics. I always add something from her collections to my personal stash and Weekends will be no exception. This collection is aptly named for it's breezy, summery walk-in-the park wonderfulness.

I'm thinking Weekends is just what I need to liven up my guest room with a new duvet, some welcoming pillowcases and curtains to flutter in the summer breeze. In more good Weekends news, several of the prints will be available in laminated cotton.

Gypsy

Shown: third column

This bold new collection is by Felicity Miller for Free Spirit Fabrics. These are large motif prints that make a statement. The colors are radiant and gorgeous; and evoke the mystery and adventure of gypsy life.

If you're looking for a fabric collection that will bring life to a dull room, this is a great option. A simple throw pillow becomes a focal point -- full of the energy of life. Easy and satisfying.

Journeys

Shown: last column

Journeys is new from Kathy Davis for Free Spirit Fabrics. The motifs have a dreamy watercolor feel and colors that simply melt into each other. What an engaging mix of romantic and modern.

This happy collection is perfect for pillows & cushions, quilts, adorable bags & totes and so much more.

Finding Fabric

If you see a particular fabric online that you like, you can check your favorite fabric source to find out if they have it in stock or can get it for you. You can also try Googling the fabric name along with the designer's name or the design house, for example: "Antiquity Collection" Michael Miller. Prints from older collections can sometimes be found on Etsy or eBay. If you love a fabric, get it while you can. Because like fashionable apparel, popular fabrics come and go; at some point even the most amazing fabrics are no longer in stores or online.

I have my personal order figured out. I sold myself on using Weekends by Erin McMorris for a couple projects at my house. I think I'm going to get some of The Antiquity Collection as well. I have to use restraint not to buy it all. smilies/shocked.gif

I purchased 10 different patterns in the Journeys collections. I bought on line so was not able to touch it or check the quality but don't worry - it's a very nice quality. Patterns are printed on grain, colors are beautiful and I love it. I plan on buying more.

Wow! What a lovely collection! The colors are dreamy and the patterns are so fresh. I know I'll have to get some of these, especially the Journeys collection.
