Click to Read MoreThese super easy napkin rings require no sewing and hardly any time commitment. And, I know you've just  been waitin' to figure out what to do with all those paper towel and TP rolls besides bonking your friends in the head with them.

Coordinate your fabric rings with the season by using appropriate flowers and foliage, or create a set to match each of your table settings.

Fabric and Other Supplies

  • 1 empty TP or paper towel roll
  • 1 yard of 1½" grosgrain ribbon
  • ¼ yard of 5/8" ribbon
  • Assorted faux flowers and leaves
  • Fabric glue
  • Ruler
  • Pen or pencil

Getting Started

Instructions are for a set of two napkin rings. Just do the math to make additional sets for bigger gatherings.

  1. Using a ruler and pen or pencil, make a line around cardboard tube 1½" in from each end.
  2. Using a serrated knife saw through cardboard tube along each line making sure to stay on the line all the way around.
  3. Reserve each 1½" piece and recycle the middle.
  4. Using the fabric glue, cover first the inside, then the outside of each ring with the 1 ½"wide ribbon.
  5. Attach leaves over the seam on outside of each ring with fabric glue – to cover up the seam.
  6. Bunch together your faux flowers and/or foliage into a little bouquet and tie with a tiny piece of 5/8" ribbon.
  7. Glue bouquet to ring on top of leaves.
  8. Let sit for about an 30 - 60 minutes to make sure the glue sets up and dries nicely.
  9. Fold and insert napkin.

This would be great fun for kids to do. My daughters family have started a family tradition at Christmas. They do homemade gifts for each family member and with 7 kids it becomes a challange to find new things they can do for one another, but this would be great for one of them to do for Mommy. I think I would use the tube from Wrapping paper as it is heavier gauge and would use a electric knife if you have it to make the cutting faster and more accurate. Kids would not be able to do the cutting electric or not....No knives for the kiddies! Great idea....
